Am I right in that since this theme is licensed under BY-SA, I can extract it from the Chakra distribution and adapt it, say, for Arch? With proper attribution, of course.
Ooops! Not update here. I explain you the little mess:
For Chakra 2012.08 and following "Claire" codename versions, the Dharma artwork with version 1.0 was licensed under CC-BY-SA.
But now, since 2013.02 (codename "Benz" editions), after various changes (and little troubles with other "scammer" artworkers), the artwork (version 1.5) is CC-BY-ND. Why? I design and create Dharma for one proposal: integration and ambient exclusive for Chakra style.
But you want addapt this from Arch. Well, at first time you cannot change this artwork, but I have a copy of version 1.0 (the CC-BY-SA) and I can pass you this. If you are interested send me a private message (for the mail address, etc).
Ah, got it. Thanks, I'll send you a PM for the version 1.0. Although, after playing a bit with the art (used version 1.5, but I believe that while it remains on my localhost, I may do whatever I can and that's fair use) I decided that it's best untouched...
BTW, two little suggestions: 1) use some "classic" monospace font for the terminal (e. g. Terminus, it's great); 2) make OS icons somewhat smaller to have some padding between the icon and selection box.
Otherwise it's perfect and so far the best minimalistic GRUB2 theme I've ever found.
1) I'm not interested in monospace font at the moment. I'm not interested in GRUB's terminal, I'm interested in the GRUB theme in itself. In my opinion, the distros (and the GRUB) should to be less dependent about terminal in the bootloader. Make some entries with special boot options are the better, for me (Chakra make this... not perfect, yes, but try to do more comfortable bootloader). In adition, I'm trying to do a solid look with all Chakra default artwork, from the boot to the desktop.
2) The icon is perfect in size if the reference is the default and common GRUB resolution (or more). Sometimes the resolution is not the better, or is less than 800x600 (maybe a bad configuration, a re-instalation, etc)... In this cases yes, all look very big (and the box selector too). But is not my problem, about this I think the same about the terminal in the GRUB.
So I found your theme, and it looks great, but I did notice something oddly familiar about some of the images used in your theme which as it turns out came from my Oxygen GRUB Theme (Found here: [link]), and while I released it under the GPL license, that still doesn't permit you to change the license (unless you were to get my permission which you did not (Info here: [link])), and it's rather in poor taste to not give me any credit (and if you're on the Chakra team this makes you guys look pretty bad honestly).
At first, sorry for the inconvenience caused. My work is apart of Chakra Project, I'm not an official member (untill now).
Secondly: yes, I use the parts of Oxygen GRUB for the console decoration. This was the final part (GRUB in itself was the final artwork piece made, and the Oxygen decorations the final part of GRUB theme. I had ommitted the decorations until the last moment). All was ready to give the complete artwork to Chakra packagers, but last-time changes were not provided.
I give instructions about more things to Chakra packagers. Things like dependencias and, obviously, licenses instructions. Yes, maybe I forget to say anything and maybe Chakra packagers commited logical faults (they are packagers and they package under instructions, ins this case under my instructions). In fact, existed faults that subsequently resolved.
Chakra developers and packagers may not be aware of all, and their faults in this things are my faults in many cases.
For example, in actual Chakra artwork coexist the GPL with the CC parts (is possible, as I know).
I'll try to change quickly the license in Chakra packages. But, if this is a problem for any reason, in next ISO I hope the parts will be deleted.
Only my fault, in any case. THe artwork was delivered earlier than expected and exist all type of bugs and faults.

Is there a download for the GRUB2 theme? I like it, but I don't want KDE.
